Epiphyllum flowers are very striking when they bloom. I was struck by the way the sunlight struck certain petals on these blooms on a spring day, and had to re-create that look in a watercolor painting!

As an artist, I am interested in painting and capturing images of all the beauty that surrounds us. We live in an incredibly beautiful world, and I try not to take that for granted. I paint with watercolors (my favorite medium), acrylics, alcohol inks, color pencils, sometimes mixing different mediums for certain effects. I also try capturing interesting views or angles with my camera. Depending on the subject, I may modify a photograph digitally to create a totally different and interesting image.
